About Our Services
What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach to understanding behavior and learning. It focuses on building meaningful skills (such as communication, social, and daily living skills) while reducing behaviors that interfere with learning or quality of life. ABA therapy is highly individualized and uses positive reinforcement to support lasting change.
What services do you offer?
We offer:
1:1 ABA therapy (in-home, online, or in the community)
Parent/caregiver coaching
School consultation and collaboration
Functional behavior and skill-based assessments
Ontario Autism Program (OAP) clinical supervision
Reports for funding, school, or care teams
Where do you provide services?
We are based in Hamilton, Ontario, and provide services in Hamilton and nearby areas. We also offer virtual sessions across Ontario. In-home and community-based services are available depending on your location and availability.
Who provides the therapy?
All services are overseen by Mary Hume, an RBA(Ont) - Registered Behaviour Analyst and OAP Clinical Supervisor. Therapy may be delivered by a trained team member under her supervision (e.g., RBT or trained therapist) to ensure high-quality, ethical care aligned with BACB and CPBAO standards.
Fees and Funding
Do you accept Ontario Autism Program (OAP) funding?
Yes! We are eligible to supervise OAP-funded programs. Families using their Childhood Budget or Interim One-Time Funding can use their funds for eligible services. We provide the necessary documentation for reimbursement or direct billing.
Do you offer payment plans?
We understand therapy is a financial commitment. Payment is typically required after each session. Please contact us directly to discuss payment options.
Getting Started
What’s the first step?
Start by booking a free consultation. We’ll discuss your child’s needs, explain our process, and schedule an assessment if we’re a good fit.
How long until therapy can begin?
We try to start services within 1–3 weeks depending on availability. After the intake, an assessment is conducted, and a personalized therapy plan is created. We’ll review the plan with you before beginning sessions.
Do you work with children who aren’t diagnosed with autism?
Yes. While we specialize in autism, we also work with children who have ADHD, anxiety, developmental delays, and behavioral challenges, as long as ABA is an appropriate intervention.
Programming and Progress
How are therapy goals decided?
Goals are based on assessment results, your child’s needs, and family priorities. We use evidence-based tools (like the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or AFLS) and collaborate closely with caregivers to choose relevant, meaningful targets.
How do you track progress?
We collect data during every session and review it regularly. You’ll receive progress updates and formal reports at scheduled intervals. Adjustments to programming are made based on your child’s growth and evolving needs.
How involved are parents?
Very involved! We believe parents and caregivers are essential partners in therapy. We offer regular coaching sessions, progress updates, and tools to use strategies at home.
Policies and Privacy
Is my information kept private?
Yes. We follow all privacy laws in Ontario, including PHIPPA. Your child’s data is securely stored, and we do not share information without your consent.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule sessions. Missed or late-cancelled appointments may be subject to a fee. Exceptions are made for illness or emergencies.
